Protect the nature, and the festivals license

Smiles all around, from left to right - Mr. Navne of 10EaZy, Mr. Cable & Mr. Kok from dBControl
Also this year the Lowlands festival was held in the surroundings of the Walibi park in Holland. For the eleventh year in a row 10EaZy distributor dBControl was present to ensure that dB limits was complied to, which at the Lowlands festival is a crucial part of ensuring that a license to continue the festival next year is given.
Thru an extensive network of wireless measurement points in the surrounding area, dBControl is able to continuously monitor the impact of the sound level from the different stages in real time. This way they are capable within minutes to react to dB levels getting close to the limit, and an official dBControl person will arrive at the stage being too loud, and assist in reducing the level. The staff of dBControl has the full authority from the lowlands organizers to perform this task.
This is very beneficial to all involved parties. The sound engineers working at the stages do not have to be the “evil guys” telling that an artist is too loud. The organizers of the festival can rest assured that their license is not threatened by neighbour complaints, and the neighbours who has to live with the festival in their backyard feels validated because any complaints from them is handled immediately. At the same time there is a general dB limit at each stage to avoid stages competing on sound levels.
The limit is based upon weather condition since the actual points are in the environment, but they are usually in the area of 103 dBA slow, which is adequate to ensure a good concert experience for the audience.
This year dBControl added the benefits of using 10EaZy at the two main stages ALPHA and GROLSCH. With the 10EaZy system, the sound engineers at the stages had a clear indication of the current sound level. According to the system engineers this was a great help in their work to achieve great concert sound while maintaining the sound levels at a decent and healthy level.
dBControl was kind enough to invite the 10EaZy staff to visit them and the lowlands. It was a very nice trip and we where very impressed with the cooperation between dBControl, the sound engineers and the organizers, ensuring that at the end of the day everybody was smiling.
