Lose 3 dB, Gain satisfied customers

Clear indication, yields small dB values

Apart from the more boring benefits of using 10EaZy with regard to the legal aspects of documenting the noise exposure at live events, there is a very interessting additional benefit.

Due to the very "loud" display of dB values presented by the 10EaZy user interface, the awareness of the actual sound level leads to a tendency to reduce the overall sound level. Even better, this is done without arguing between local engineer and band engineer, thus creating a far better atmosphere at the mixing console, than usually is obtained when "tapping a dB meter display" in front of sound engineer.

Everybody wins!
The band engineer do not feel that his work is compromised by "stupid rules", the local engineer may focus on maintaining the best possible sound quality from the PA system, and the local organizer rests assure that audience, employees and neighbors are not submitted to overly loud sound levels.

Data from the 10EaZy log file

The picture demonstrates the very clear effect of displaying the sound levels to the sound engineer with 10EaZy.
Sound levels where recorded two nights in a row at the same venue with the same band performing both nights.
On the first night the 10EaZy display was not visible to the sound engineer. On the second night the 10Eazy display was available to the sound engineer.
Apart from the initial "wow, i'm loud" comment the engineer immediately started working on reducing the overall level.
The picture clearely illustrates that values went from hitting 116 dB(A) on the fist night to barely making 112 dB(A) on the second night.

A reduction of 3 dB in sound level equals a cut of 50 % in the damaging exposure to the ear!!!

The end result is a better sounding show and a healthier experience for everyone involved.
